Clear Traction

Clear Traction is a unique, specially formulated coating that will increase the COF (coefficient of friction) on surfaces that may become slippery when wet. Clear Traction will add additional traction without sacrificing the beauty or appearance of the floor that it is applied on.

Clear Traction is resistant to staining, abrasion and etching. The UV stable, non-yellowing formula is ideal for outdoor, indoor, residential and commercial installations.

Clear Traction is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications and for residential and commercial buildings. Suitable for public areas, hotel lobbies, swimming pool surrounds, bathroom and shower floors, decks, patios, stairways, garage floors, driveways, warehouse floors, hospital floors, school floors, restaurant, and kitchen floors and anywhere where surfaces become slippery when wet.

How To Use

  1. ALWAYS TEST PRODUCT ON A SMALL AREA FIRST and allow a 8-hour cure time to determine the ease of application and desired results.

  2. Surface must be dry and clean with no residue. We recommend cleaning the surface with STAIN-PROOF™ Peroxide Cleaner the day before, followed by an acetone wipe before application.
  3. DO NOT thin product.
  4. Stir product until color and viscosity is consistent, then pour product into a paint rolling pan.
  5. Apply STAIN-PROOF Clear Traction when the surface temperature is between 40-95°F (5-35°C) using only a high quality white high density foam roller. Before application, prep high density foam roller by rolling over painters tape to remove any manufacturing loose particles, so they do not appear in your coating. You must use a wet film gauge to measure thickness of coating at 1.5 to 2.5 mils thickness. Roll out evenly and let it self-level for 8 to 12 minutes.
  6. Surface will tact over in the 8-12 minute leveling time, change roller to a fresh new high density roller, then back roll area with fresh and prepped roller no more than 3-4 strokes to allow aggregate to float to the top and create the texture of the coating.
  7. Do not over back roll while drying as this will disrupt look and texture. Avoid contact with surrounding areas. Edges can be taped off with painters’ tape for clean lines. Remove tape immediately after back rolling. Avoid moisture contact with the surface for 24 – 48 hours after application.
  8. Total application rate is approximately one quart per 100 sq. ft. (one liter per 10 sqm), at 1.5-2.5 mils thickness. Coverage may vary with different surfaces.
  9. Open to light traffic in 24 hours. Dries to touch in 4 hours. 48 hours or greater for heavy traffic.
  10. Coating can be removed after 24 hours if not satisfied with the outcome using 90% Isopropyl alcohol, without harming the surface. For repairs, sand and recoat (product will blend with itself).

Note: Coating will help prevent surface staining, surface etching, scuff marks or wear. Clear Traction may lighten or darken some surfaces, always test first. Spills should be cleaned up immediately to minimize absorption and reduce slippery surface.

Storage

Store locked up in a well-ventilated place. Keep cool.
