Bentoswell Expanding Concrete Joint Waterstop

OCM BENTOSWELL is a flexible concrete construction water swelling strip that provides a positive seal by expanding upon contact with moisture.
OCM BENTOSWELL is a special blend of Butyl Rubber Polymers and Bentonite Clay that provides superior expansion characteristics in concrete construction joints. BENTOSWELL is an active Bentonite Waterstop that is designed to replace passive PVC dumbbell Waterstop in order to eliminate seam welding and split forming required with these types of Waterstops.
Bentoswell Waterstop is available in two different profiles.
BS-1001R is a Rectangle shape measuring 3⁄4” x 1”.
BS-1001T is a Trapezoid shape measuring 1⁄2” at the small end and 1 1⁄4” at the large end. This profile also includes a plastic reinforcing scrim to increase the tensile strength.

BENTOSWELL is not a self-adhering product, and the use of BENTOSWELL PRIMER is required for proper adhesion to concrete, metal, or PVC surfaces. Do not use mechanical fasteners exclusively to secure BENTOSWELL. But, mechanical fasteners can be used in conjunction with BENTOSWELL PRIMER to adhere BENTOSWELL Waterstop.
BENTOSWELL requires a 75mm(3”) minimum concrete coverage to the exterior concrete surface.
BENTOSWELL should not be prehydrated by submersion or remain in contact with water prior to the concrete being poured. If ground water is contaminated, or is expected please contact an OCM Inc, representative for compatibility information.

- Brush and remove any loose dirt or particles from the surface.
- Apply BENTOSWELL PRIMER by brush or trowel on to the clean concrete surface. BENTOSWELL PRIMER is available in 10.3 oz tubes or 1 gallon cans.
- BENTOSWELL PRIMER should be installed in 1⁄4” minimum thickness.
- Remove release paper and firmly press the entire length of BENTOSWELL on to the primer surface within 30 minutes of primer application.
- Tightly Butt Coil ends together to form a continuous waterstop. Do not overlap coil ends. Coils can be cut with a knife or utility blade.
- Now you are ready to pour concrete.
