Form Seasoning WB is a water-based solution that oxidizes new aluminum forms to prevent chemical sticking with fresh concrete
Proper seasoning of aluminum forms with Form Seasoning WB minimizes sticking issues before forms go into regular use, and should be followed by a reactive release agent like SpecStrip for a clean release.
Key Features & Benefits
- Oxidizes new aluminum form surfaces to prepare them for use
- Minimizes chemical sticking that fresh concrete can cause on unseasoned forms
Application Instructions
- Ensure forms are clean and free of dirt, hardened concrete, or other foreign matter
- Best results come at air/form temperatures above 70°F, though it works down to 40°F
- Apply with a sprayer, roller, or brush; for stacked forms, spray side rails, lay face up, and apply to point of rejection (typically 300 sq ft/gal)
- Watch for uniform bubbling — a sign of proper reaction, typically taking 30 minutes to 1 hour
- Keep the surface moist during reaction; don't let it dry on the forms
- Remove with a hose or low-pressure sprayer (100 psi or lower) — high pressure may disturb the new oxide layer
- Once dry, apply a reactive release agent like SpecStrip for a clean release
