Innovation from Desperation
1930 – Wylie family moved to Petersburg, Texas and began selling propane gas
1962 – Loy Wylie returns to Petersburg, Texas to run Wylie & Son, Inc.
1963 – Loy Wylie developed the flame cultivator
1966 – Began distributing Treflan and realized there was not a way to apply it
1975 - Loy invented the first Wylie sunflower harvesters
1976 – Loy invented the first Wylie recirculating sprayer
1978 – Waco store opened
1980 – OKC store opened
1987 – Edinburg and Amarillo opened, Wylie Sprayers as we know it today
1989 – Scot Wylie became president of Wylie & Son, Inc
1990 – First Wylie Spray Wyng boom
2002 – Became the exclusive Case IH application equipment distributors for Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico
2010 – Purchased seven full service Case IH dealerships in West Texas and Texas Panhandle
2014 – Today Wylie & Son, Inc stretches across three states, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, with seven Wylie Spray Centers and seven full-service Case IH dealership.
WYLIE & Son, Inc. is a family-owned and operated company in continuous operation since 1930. Since 1964, WYLIE has specialized in the manufacture and marketing of chemical application equipment. WYLIE sprayers and equipment are sold nationwide and in several foreign countries. Our primary markets and interests lie in the Southwestern United States. We feel that we can better serve the growers in this area by concentrating on their needs and by providing high-quality, affordable, state-of-the-art products and service to the agricultural community of the Southwest.
