SpecPatch 5

SpecPatch 5 is a rapid-setting, general-purpose concrete repair mortar that reaches a durable, shapeable finish in about 5 minutes

SpecPatch 5 works on concrete floors, walls, precast, tilt-up, and masonry surfaces, for both horizontal and vertical applications. It can be shaved or sanded once set, and blends in with a natural concrete-gray finish.

Application Instructions

• Ensure the concrete is solid and free of oil, grease, dust, and other contaminants
• Saw-cut 1/8" deeper than the repair depth around the perimeter for a notched, reinforced edge
• Roughen the surface to a minimum CSP of 5 per ICRI 310.2; the concrete should be damp but not wet, with no standing water
• Clean exposed steel reinforcement of rust and coat with SpecPrep SB
• Mix 6.75-7.25 pints of water per 50 lb bag with a low-speed drill, adding water first, for 2-3 minutes
• Mixing with SpecChem StrongBond Acrylic Bonder is recommended for thin, high-wear horizontal applications
• Apply in layers up to 1" thick, roughening the surface between layers for better bond; texture the final layer to match surrounding concrete
• In dry climates, use an ASTM C309 compliant water-based curing compound

• Compressive Strength: 1,500 psi at 3 hours, 6,000 psi at 28 days
• Bond Strength: 1,680 psi slant shear at 7 days

• Shelf Life: 12 months, stored in a dry area away from excessive heat, humidity, and sunlight
