Product Description
SpecRock is a pourable, cement-based anchoring cement that sets hard in 12-15 minutes and expands as it cures for a secure, non-shrinking lock
SpecRock is a one-component, waterproof, non-shrink, Portland cement-based anchoring cement. It expands slightly as it sets, locking firmly into the surrounding concrete. SpecRock ES (Extended Set) offers a longer 60-75 minute set time, making it better suited for hot weather placement above 90°F.
Key Features & Benefits
- Quick setting — hardens in 12-15 minutes to speed up production
- Rapid high strength — up to 2,000 psi in 1 hour at 72°F
- Controlled expansion for a secure anchor lock
- Nonmetallic, with stable volume over time
- Waterproof and freeze/thaw resistant for long-lasting durability
- Flowable, pourable consistency for easy placement
- Approved for exterior use and direct water exposure
Common Applications
Used to securely anchor bolts, reinforcing rods, and columns; railings, fences, and small machines; handrails, bridge railings, and posts; and signs, pulleys, and motors.
Application Instructions
- Drill holes into sound concrete roughly three times wider than the embedded object
- Ensure holes allow material to flow easily around the object; optionally "mushroom" the base of the hole for added anchorage
- Clean out all dust and debris, and dampen (without saturating) the hole walls
- Mix only what can be used within 8 minutes, to a pancake-batter consistency, using approximately 16.7% water by weight
- Pour continuously to avoid air pockets, ensuring full contact with the base plate — minimum placement thickness of 1 inch, maximum 18 inches per lift
- For high-flow applications, aggregate can be reduced up to 25% by weight for easier placement
Technical Data Summary
- Compressive Strength: 2,000 psi at 1 hour, 5,000 psi at 1 day, 8,000 psi at 28 days
- Flexural Strength: 1,250 psi at 28 days
- Pull-Out Strength: Up to 19,300 lbs, depending on anchor and depth
Packaging
Available in 50 lb pails or bags.
Shelf Life & Storage
18 months when stored properly in a cool, dry area between 45°F and 90°F.
