PROSOCO Cure & Seal Remover is a professional-grade chemical stripper formulated to remove high-solids cure and seal coatings from concrete flatwork prior to hardening, densifying, polishing, grinding, or staining operations. Designed for contractors working on interior concrete floors as well as exterior flatwork including patios and driveways, it dissolves tough coating residues that would otherwise block penetrating treatments or clog grinding and polishing equipment heads. The product applies as-packaged with no dilution required, and rinses clean with water after use.
Unlike solvent-heavy strippers, Cure & Seal Remover is fully compliant with all known national, state, and district VOC regulations and contains readily biodegradable materials. Its low-odor formulation and water-rinsable cleanup make it a more practical choice for enclosed or occupied job sites where harsh solvent odors are a concern.
Key Features & Benefits
Full VOC Compliance
Cure & Seal Remover meets all known national, state, and district VOC regulations with a maximum VOC content of 30%. Contractors working in regulated regions can use this product without concern for compliance issues on inspected job sites.
Fast-Acting Formula
The product works quickly, requiring only a 5–10 minute dwell time before scrubbing. This minimizes downtime between prep and the subsequent treatment or polishing step.
Does Not Affect Concrete Color
Cure & Seal Remover strips the coating without altering the underlying concrete color. This is especially important on decorative concrete floors or flatwork intended for staining or polishing where an unaltered substrate is required.
Water-Rinsable and Low Odor
Cleanup requires only fresh water, with no special solvents or additional cleaning agents needed. The low-odor, sweet-almond scent makes the product more tolerable in interior environments compared to aggressive solvent-based strippers.
Contains Readily Biodegradable Materials
The formulation includes readily biodegradable materials, reducing environmental impact during use and disposal. Contractors working on LEED-sensitive projects or environmentally conscious job sites benefit from this characteristic.
Broad Substrate Coverage
Coverage rates of 300–500 sq ft per gallon across varied concrete porosities and textures provide flexibility across different job conditions. Available in both 1-gallon and 5-gallon sizes to suit small repairs or full-floor prep projects.
Common Applications
Pre-Hardener and Densifier Surface Prep
Removes existing cure-and-seal coatings that would otherwise block penetrating hardeners and densifiers from absorbing into the concrete substrate.
Pre-Grinding and Polishing Prep
Strips coatings that can clog diamond tooling and polishing equipment heads, protecting equipment and ensuring consistent material removal during grinding operations.
Pre-Staining Surface Prep
Clears old coatings from the concrete surface so that reactive or penetrating stains can make proper contact with the substrate and achieve uniform color results.
Driveways and Exterior Flatwork
Effective on exterior concrete surfaces including driveways and patios where high-solids cure and seal coatings have been previously applied.
Pre-Protective Treatment Application
Prepares floors for the application of other penetrating protective treatments by ensuring the surface is free of old coatings that would impede penetration.
Compatible Materials
- Concrete floors (interior)
- Concrete patios (exterior flatwork)
- Concrete driveways
- Other concrete flatwork surfaces
Limitations
- Surfaces are slippery during application — use appropriate caution
- Product efficiency is reduced in cold temperatures; do not apply below 40°F (4°C)
- May damage synthetic or reflective glass — protect or test before use

Application Instructions
Preparation
- Protect people, vehicles, property, painted surfaces, plants, and all surfaces not intended for treatment from product, splash, and wind drift.
- Protect and/or divert pedestrian and auto traffic from the work area.
- Test or protect metal finishes and glass that may be damaged by the product.
- Confirm surface and air temperatures are at or above 40°F (4°C). Cleaning effectiveness is reduced below 50°F (10°C).
- Always test a small area of each surface to confirm suitability, coverage rate, and desired results before beginning overall application.
Equipment
- Apply with a long-handled brush, mop, or pump-up sprayer.
- Use a stiff bristle brush or mechanical scrub machine for scrubbing.
- Use a mop or wet-vac to collect spent cleaner and debonded coating.
- Pressure-wash under 1,000 psi or mop with fresh water only if needed to remove excess residue.
Dilution
- Apply as packaged. Do not dilute or alter the product.
Application
- Apply with low-pressure spray to a dry surface.
- Allow to dwell for 5–10 minutes. Allow more dwell time when temperatures are below 50°F (10°C).
- Scrub with a stiff bristle brush or a mechanical scrub machine.
- Take up as much spent cleaner and dissolved coating as possible. Ensure cleaned floors are as free as possible of spent cleaner and debonded coatings.
- Rinse or mop the floor with fresh water if needed. A thorough mop, wet-vac, or machine scrub usually removes enough residue so the cleaned floor can be treated once dry.
Cleanup
- Clean all tools and equipment with fresh water.
Storage and Handling
- Store in a cool, dry place away from other chemicals.
- Keep tightly closed when not dispensing.
- Do not alter or mix with other chemicals.
- Maintain storage temperatures of 45–100°F (7–38°C).
- Do not double stack pallets.
- Dispose of unused product and container in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
