PitBull BigDog Electric Stone Chiseler

The Pitbull Big Dog Stone Chisel by Omega Diamond is a portable electric stone chiseler that works on almost any stone type, including engineered stone, cutting laminated stone up to 3½ inches (8cm) thick.

We built the Pitbull line after testing the air-powered and manual chiselers on the market and finding they couldn't handle engineered stone or even some common natural stone — and worse, they tended to throw chunks of stone at the operator on hard material. The Big Dog is our answer: a hydraulic stone chiseler powerful enough for thicker stone, and the only shear on the market capable of producing scalloped edges.

The Big Dog's 5+ ton rated hydraulic piston shears through the hardest stones — we've tested it on engineered stone, volcanic stone, granite, and marble. Its 3-inch-wide teeth let you create a perfect edge by overlapping bites, or a ragged "mountainous" look by working at an angle. For straight edges, clamp a section of angle aluminum to the slab (our suction clamps work well for this) and use the guide pins to keep the chiseler in alignment for every bite.

Modular Jaw System

• Soft-Stone jaw: a general-purpose jaw for softer stones like marble and limestone, capable of handling harder stone too
• 1½ inch jaw: for tough stone such as 4cm slate and 8cm Absolute Black
• Scalloping jaw: creates a scalloped chiseled edge as easily as a straight one
• Reverse Scallop ("arc") jaw: scallops the inside of sink holes, or pairs with the Scalloping jaw for a wavy edge

Oil Requirement

As of July 2022, Pitbull machines ship without oil. Use a 1.8 gallon (7 liter), 50:50 mix of general-purpose non-foaming hydraulic oil and diesel, diluting with diesel to thin as needed.
