Product Description
9 Ft. Raptor Mounted Sickle Bar Mower Attachment
Mount the Eterra 9 ft. Sickle Bar Mower on your Raptor boom for clean, precise vegetation cutting with maximum coverage. As the largest model in Eterra's Raptor sickle bar lineup, it combines a wide cut with the extended reach of the Raptor boom. A robust, non-clogging sickle slices through grass, brush, and other vegetation up to 2" in diameter without scattering debris, leaving a clean cut and an easy cleanup.
The large 9 ft. cut width helps operators get more done on berm cutting and trail maintenance jobs. That makes this attachment a strong fit for farms, orchards, and road maintenance businesses. Use it for side cutting along roadsides and ditches, trimming hedges, and making vertical cuts along driveways where vegetation has grown out over the path.
Built for heavy-duty work, the mower has a break-away bar that protects the unit from accidental impacts, reducing damage and downtime. A hydraulic gerotor motor drives the knife through a planetary gearbox, and rugged construction keeps maintenance to a minimum.

Maintenance at a Glance
- Use SAE multi-purpose lithium-based grease on all grease fittings. Synthetic or high-heat greases will not flow properly in the gearbox and can damage it.
- Grease the main gearbox every 50 hours with 5 pumps from a hand grease gun.
- Grease the bottom drive spud every 50 hours with 1 pump. When cutting green, juicy material, grease it 1 pump daily.
- Check knifehead bolt torque every time grease is applied.
- Use only hand-pump grease guns, and clean fittings before greasing to keep dirt out of the bearings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What size material can the 9 ft. Raptor Sickle Bar Mower cut?
A: It cuts grass, brush, and other vegetation up to 2" in diameter.
Q: Can this mower be used in water?
A: No. The 9 ft. model is not aquatic approved. If you need to cut in or around water, choose the 5 ft. Raptor Sickle Bar Mower, which is the only aquatic-approved size.
Q: What hydraulic flow does it need?
A: It's available in two flow ranges, 12–15 GPM and 15–20 GPM, with a maximum pressure of 3,500 PSI. Contact us before ordering and we'll help you match the right flow range to your machine.
Q: What drive system does it use?
A: A gerotor hydraulic motor with a planetary gear drive.
Q: Does it throw debris?
A: No. The sickle cuts vegetation cleanly without scattering debris across the work area.
Q: What happens if the bar hits an obstacle?
A: The break-away bar is designed to protect the mower against accidental impacts. You should still take care not to run the sickle into fixed objects.
Q: How many teeth does it have, and what style?
A: 36 teeth, in a top serrated 2" segment style.
Q: How much does it weigh?
A: 400 lbs without the mount.
Q: How does it compare to the 5 ft. and 7 ft. models?
A: The 9 ft. has the widest cut, with 36 teeth to the 7 ft.'s 28 and the 5 ft.'s 22. Like the 7 ft., it uses a planetary gear drive and is available in 12–15 or 15–20 GPM. The 5 ft. is the only size approved for aquatic operation.
Q: Does it need to be greased before first use?
A: No. It's pre-lubricated at the factory, so lubrication isn't needed when first purchased. After that, follow the greasing schedule above.
Q: What kind of grease should I use?
A: SAE multi-purpose lithium-based grease. Don't use synthetic or high-heat greases, which won't flow properly in the gearbox and can damage it.
Q: What jobs is it best suited for?
A: Berm cutting, trail maintenance, roadside and ditch clearing, hedge trimming, and vertical cuts along driveways, especially when you want maximum coverage per pass. It's a great fit for farms, orchards, and road maintenance businesses.
Q: Is it available in other sizes?
A: Yes. Eterra offers Raptor mounted sickle bar mowers in 5 ft., 7 ft., and 9 ft. models.
Q: Where can I find the spec sheet and manual?
A: Download the spec sheet (PDF) or download the operator's manual (PDF).
