Paver Enhancer — Penetrating Water Repellent & Color Intensifier for Concrete and Masonry

Sure Klean Weather Seal Paver Enhancer is a solvent-based blend of high-quality siloxanes modified to provide excellent water repellency and color enhancement to interlocking concrete, fired clay, porous tile, and many types of natural stone. Designed for use by trades professionals, it penetrates and chemically bonds with the substrate to deliver long-term durability, alkali resistance, and superior breathability. This product is suited for contractors treating exterior hardscapes, paver installations, and vertical masonry wall surfaces.

Unlike film-forming sealers that sit on the surface and can trap moisture or peel over time, Paver Enhancer forms a chemical bond within the substrate, allowing treated surfaces to breathe while still repelling water and resisting staining. Its low-odor formulation and siloxane chemistry provide performance on hard-to-seal porous surfaces where other treatments fall short.

Key Features & Benefits

Penetrating Chemical Bond for Long-Term Durability

Paver Enhancer does not form a surface film — it penetrates and reacts chemically with the substrate. This creates a bond that resists wear and breakdown over time, making it a more durable option for exterior surfaces exposed to heavy foot traffic and weather cycles.

Color Enhancement

The modified siloxane formula provides excellent color enhancement, deepening and enriching the appearance of pavers, stone, and tile. Contractors can deliver a visually improved finish without applying a topical coating that might alter surface texture or trap moisture.

Water Repellency and Rainwater Penetration Control

Controls rainwater penetration through hard-to-seal surfaces and resists water penetration when applied to vertical walls over existing shrinkage cracks of 0.02 inches or less. This level of moisture control is critical for extending the service life of paver installations and masonry walls.

Breathable Treatment — Does Not Trap Moisture

Treated surfaces retain their ability to breathe, allowing vapor transmission while blocking liquid water ingress. This is especially important in freeze-thaw climates where trapped moisture leads to spalling and surface damage.

Efflorescence and Staining Control

Helps control efflorescence and moisture and traffic-related staining, and simplifies cleaning of treated surfaces. For contractors working on high-visibility commercial or residential paver installations, this reduces long-term callbacks and maintenance complaints.

Alkali Resistance

The chemical bond formed by the siloxane blend provides resistance to alkalis, which is important when treating concrete and masonry substrates that are inherently alkaline and can degrade less resistant treatments over time.

Low Odor

Despite its solvent-based formulation, Paver Enhancer is characterized as low odor, which is a practical advantage when working in occupied or semi-enclosed environments such as covered patios, entryways, or commercial walkways.

Common Applications

Interlocking Concrete Paver Installations

Apply to new or cleaned interlocking concrete paver fields to enhance color, repel moisture, and reduce efflorescence — extending the appearance and life of driveways, patios, and walkways.

Fired Clay Pavers and Brick

Penetrates porous fired clay surfaces to deliver water repellency and color enrichment without leaving a film that can alter surface texture or cause delamination.

Natural Stone Surfaces

Suitable for many types of natural stone, providing moisture protection and color intensification for flagstone, slate, and similar porous masonry surfaces.

Porous Tile

Treats porous tile surfaces in exterior applications where moisture penetration and staining are ongoing maintenance concerns.

Vertical Masonry Walls

Resists water penetration on vertical wall surfaces over existing shrinkage cracks of 0.02 inches or less, making it applicable for masonry facade protection in addition to horizontal paver work.

Compatible Materials

  • Interlocking concrete pavers
  • Fired clay pavers and brick
  • Porous tile
  • Natural stone (many types)

Limitations

  • Not suitable for extremely dense surfaces
  • Not recommended for below-grade applications
  • Will not prevent water penetration through structural cracks, defects, or open joints
  • Always pretest before use around pools or fountains to ensure desired results
  • Not appropriate for application to asphaltic or painted surfaces
  • Not suitable for application to synthetic resin paints, gypsum, plaster, or other non-masonry surfaces
  • May penetrate through exposed stone, tile, grout, or paver surfaces and react with asphaltic crack-suppression membranes — always pretest
  • Not suitable for sale in states and districts with more restrictive AIM VOC regulations (see VOC restrictions above)

Application Instructions

Surface Preparation

  1. Protect people, vehicles, property, plants, painted surfaces, metal, anodized aluminum, and all non-masonry surfaces from product, rinse, residue, fumes, splash, and wind drift using polyethylene or other tested protective material.
  2. Ensure fresh air entry and cross ventilation during application and drying. Extinguish all flames, pilot lights, and other potential sources of ignition during use and until all vapors are gone.
  3. Surface must be clean, dry, and absorbent before application. If cleaning is necessary, use the appropriate PROSOCO cleaner. Clean soiled paver surfaces with PROSOCO's Light Duty Concrete Cleaner before application. Do not use raw acids.
  4. Let cleaned surfaces dry completely. Let newly constructed and repointed surfaces cure for 28 days before application. Sealing and caulking compounds should be in place and cured before application.
  5. Surface and air temperatures must be 40–90°F (4–32°C) during application. Higher temperatures evaporate the solvent carrier and reduce penetration. If freezing conditions exist, let masonry thaw before applying.

Equipment

  1. Spray application utilizing a pump-up or low-pressure (20 psi) sprayer is recommended. Fit spray equipment with stainless steel or brass fittings and gaskets suitable for solvent solutions.
  2. Fan spray tips are recommended to avoid atomizing the material.
  3. May also be applied with nylon brushes and rollers or other synthetic solvent-resistant material.

Testing

  1. Always test each type of surface for suitability and results before overall application. Include in the test area any previous repairs and patches.
  2. Always pretest before use around pools or fountains and on any substrate that may incorporate asphaltic crack-suppression membranes.

Storage and Handling

  1. Store in a cool, dry place away from potential ignition sources. Keep container tightly sealed when not dispensing.
  2. Do not alter or mix with other chemicals.
  3. Maintain storage temperature of 45–100°F (7–38°C). Do not double stack pallets.
  4. Dispose of unused product and container in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
