Product Description
Wood's Powr-Grip MTA Series — Heavy-Duty Vacuum Lifter for Stone, High-Density Materials, and Field Use
The Wood's Powr-Grip MTA Series is a heavy-duty powered vacuum lifter designed for lifting, tilting, and transferring stone and other high-density materials in stone shops and in the field. Available in 4-pad and 8-pad configurations with AC (corded), DC (battery), and Air power options, and in capacities from 500 lbs to 1,400 lbs (225–635 kg), the MTA Series covers a wide range of stone handling applications — from standard smooth stone slabs to slightly textured surfaces and, with the High Flow option, semi-porous surfaces. Manufactured by Wood's Powr-Grip.
Select your configuration below. Standard in-stock models are available for immediate order. Special Order models are built to order — contact us for lead times and availability. All sales are final.

How to Select Your Configuration
Step 1: Choose Pad Count — 4-Pad or 8-Pad
The 8-pad configuration provides higher load capacity (1,200–1,400 lbs) and is suited for larger, heavier stone slabs. The 4-pad configuration provides lower capacity (500–700 lbs) and is suited for smaller slabs or applications where a more compact lifter is preferred.
Step 2: Choose Pad Type — Standard or Larger G3370
Models designated “L” (e.g., MTA811L, MTA411L) use the larger G3370 vacuum pads, which provide greater contact area per pad and higher capacity. Models without the “L” designation use standard pads. The G3370 pad models are the higher-capacity option within each pad count.
Step 3: Choose Surface Type — Smooth or Textured
Standard models (no “T” in model number) are designed for smooth nonporous stone surfaces. “T” models (e.g., MTA810T) can handle slightly textured surfaces. The High Flow option (MTA810TDCS-HF) extends capability to semi-porous surfaces. Select based on the surface texture of the stone you are handling.
Step 4: Choose Power Source — AC, DC, or Air
- AC (corded): Requires electrical outlet. Best for stone shop environments with consistent power access. Standard in-stock models are AC.
- DC (battery): Battery-powered for cordless operation. Best for field use and locations without reliable power access. Special Order.
- Air: Air-powered using a compressed air source. Best for environments where compressed air is available and electrical power is not. Special Order.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Which models are in stock vs. Special Order?
A: Three models are available as standard in-stock items: MTA811LAC (SKU 97521, 8-pad AC, 1,400 lb), MTA810TAC (SKU 97520, 8-pad AC textured, 1,200 lb), and MTA49AC (SKU 97519, 4-pad AC, 500 lb). All other configurations are Special Order — contact us for lead times and availability.
Q: What is the High Flow option on the MTA810TDCS-HF?
A: The High Flow option allows the lifter to attach to semi-porous surfaces that standard vacuum lifters cannot seal against. This is in addition to the slightly textured surface capability of the T-series models. If you are handling semi-porous stone or materials, the MTA810TDCS-HF is the only MTA Series model with this capability.
Q: What is the difference between the “L” and non-“L” models?
A: “L” models (e.g., MTA811L, MTA411L) use the larger G3370 vacuum pads, providing greater contact area per pad and higher load capacity within the same pad count. Non-“L” models (e.g., MTA49, MTA810T) use standard pads. For the highest capacity within a given pad count, select the “L” model.
Q: Is this product made to order?
A: Standard in-stock models (SKUs 97521, 97520, 97519) are available for immediate order. All Special Order models are built to order and all sales are final. Contact us for Special Order lead times and availability.
