Penetrating Curing Agent

Skudo CURE is a revolutionary curing agent that penetrates the surface of the concrete and creates a sub-surface barrier. This barrier holds moisture for significantly increased hydration during the curing cycle. A penetrating barrier is not affected by typical construction traffic, so the hydration (and color) is more consistent throughout the project.

Skudo CURE is dissipating but does not require UV light like other dissipating cures. No matter how fast your project is moving, Skudo CURE will increase hydration and dissipate after 30 days - allowing for decorative concrete processes and/or tile or stone installation seal coatings like epoxy or urethane. Without a surface film coating, there is nothing to remove before installing any flooring products or other surface treatments.

Skudo CURE was specifically created with decorative concrete projects in mind. Without a typical curing sealer surface film to remove, the polished concrete project becomes much more controllable while reducing labor costs. Controlling the depth of grinding is also much easier without the need to remove a surface coating with aggressive abrasives. Skudo CURE increases abrasion resistance by creating a much denser and harder surface paste while dust-proofing the concrete.

Skudo CURE is recommended for newly placed concrete to retain moisture and achieve curing characteristics such as increased surface strength and reduced curling. Skudo CURE is ideal for integrally colored concrete where regular sealers can discolor the finish.

Features:

  • Improves cure by retaining slab moisture.
  • Drastically reduces crazing and map cracking.
  • High penetrating, non-film forming – no need to grind or chemically remove layer to seal and burnish
  • Forms hydrophobic barrier and increases stain repellency.
  • Greatly improves abrasion resistance.
  • Helps reduce efflorescence and minimizes dusting of the concrete.

How to Apply

IMPORTANT - Read Before You Begin Application:

  • Store in safe dry place at 40-105Fº (4 -41Cº)
  • Do not mix with other chemicals
  • Seal container after use
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Keep product from freezing
  • To protect from overspray, cover any surrounding materials before application.

Skudo CURE is a Ready to Use product and should not be mixed or diluted with any other product.

Skudo CURE should be applied at a rate of 1,000 to 1,500 sf per Gallon.

1

Apply to new concrete immediately after power trowel comes off the slab or once the bleed water has disappeared.

Note: Ensure that the finishers do not burn (over burnish) the slab that will create a cap. This will hinder penetration into the surface.

2

Apply product with low pressure pump sprayer and conical tip. Spray Skudo CURE to lightly wet the surface without creating puddles. Apply in a consistent, overlapping circular motion, holding the wand approximately 12 inches above the surface. SkudoCURE™ will absorb into concrete more quickly in some places than others. Do not over-apply. Do not allow product to puddle.

3

While spraying, immediately spread Skudo CURE evenly across the surface using a microfiber pad with Skudo CURE applied to the face.

4

Prevent overspray on other materials. If this happens, immediately rinse off any overspray with water.

5

Apply the Skudo CURE before any soft cutting operations.

6

Do not apply when ambient or surface temperature is below 40°F (4.4°C).

Cleaning

Tools in contact with Skudo CURE can be washed up with soap and water shortly after application.

Wet overspray on glass or metal can also be removed with soap and water.

Use a solvent cleaner as soon as possible to remove any dried overspray.
