Its fast cure time, chemical resistance, and factory-proportioned 1:1 mixing system support quick preparation and application.

Key Features & Benefits

98% Solids Polyurea System

The product is a 98% solids hybrid polyurea crack filler designed for concrete repair. Its high-solids formulation provides high penetration and fast setting for repair applications.

Fast Cure Time

Crack Fill Fast has a pot life of approximately 2–3 minutes at 77°F and dries in approximately 10–20 minutes at 77°F. The coated area may be put back into service immediately after curing, with curing times dependent upon ambient and surface conditions.

Factory-Proportioned Packaging

The resin and hardener are supplied in factory-proportioned quantities, reducing the risk of applicator error during mixing. The product uses a 1:1 mixing ratio by volume.

Concrete Repair Applications

The material can be used to repair damaged joints, fill spalling, and rebuild vertical curbing and steps. Sand or gravel may be added to increase volume and act as filler when repairing larger holes and cracks.

Good Chemical Resistance

The product provides good chemical resistance and is formulated for use in industrial floor shops, car washes, mechanical rooms, areas of light manufacturing, and other locations where concrete repair is required.

Common Applications

Concrete Crack Repair

Used for repairing cracks in concrete by pouring the material into cracks and allowing it to overflow slightly. Once hardened, the surplus material is ground using a grinder equipped with a diamond wheel.

Damaged Joint Repair

Designed for repairing damaged concrete joints where a fast-setting polyurea crack filler is required.

Spalling Repair

Can be used to fill spalling in concrete surfaces as part of concrete repair work.

Curbs and Steps

Suitable for rebuilding vertical curbing and steps where concrete repair is needed.

Larger Holes and Cracks

Sand or gravel can be added to increase the volume of the material and act as filler when repairing larger holes and cracks.

Suitable Application Areas

  • Industrial floor shops
  • Car washes
  • Mechanical rooms
  • Areas of light manufacturing
  • Concrete repair applications

Surface Preparation

The surface must be clean, sound, and dry. Trowel marks and surface imperfections must be removed to produce a smooth and uniform surface. The substrate must be free of wax, grease, oils, fats, soil, contaminants, loose or foreign matter, and laitance. Concrete should be cleaned and prepared using a shot blast machine or adequate grinding equipment to achieve a CSP-3 to CSP-4 profile according to ICRI guidelines.

Concrete should have a compressive strength of at least 3,500 psi (24 MPa) at 28 days and at least 215 psi (1.5 MPa) in tension at the time of product application.

Priming

Priming is required for concrete substrates. The primer should be allowed to cure until tack-free before applying the subsequent coat. Before applying the subsequent coat, verify that the primer is free of pinholes, bubbles, and open porous areas and that the entire surface is uniformly coated. Moisture vapor transmission levels should be verified before priming, and a polymer moisture vapor barrier system may be required for substrates affected by elevated transmission rates.

Mixing

  1. Mechanically premix Part A (resin) with an appropriate slow-speed drill equipped with a Jiffy Mixer for 1 minute.
  2. Slowly empty the entire contents of Part B into the container holding Part A and continue mixing for no more than 30 seconds.
  3. Only prepare the quantity needed because the product has fast dry times. Do not mix more material than can be applied within the working time limits.

Storage

Store all components in dry, temperature-controlled areas between 54–78°F. Do not expose the product to freezing or excessive high heat. Shelf life is 2 years in an unopened factory-filled container when stored in a dry area between 54–75°F.

Precautions & Limitations

  • Substrate moisture must be ≤4% by mass as measured by a concrete moisture meter on a mechanically prepared surface.
  • Avoid condensation. The substrate must be at least 37°F above the dew point.
  • Do not add thinners or solvents to the mix.
  • Do not add water.
  • Use only in well-ventilated areas.
  • Safety glasses and protective gloves are required.
  • Dispose of waste materials in accordance with government regulations.
