PROSOCO Cleaner/Degreaser is a commercial-strength, concentrated liquid detergent formulated to remove widespread oil and grease films, adhesive tape residues, and rubber tire marks and scuffs from concrete floors. Designed for use in warehouses, manufacturing plants, machine shops, and other industrial sites, it delivers heavy-duty cleaning performance without the hazards associated with solvent-based degreasers. Its highly concentrated formula dilutes with water at ratios ranging from 4:1 up to 200:1, making it economical for large-scale facility maintenance applications.
Unlike many industrial degreasers that rely on harsh acids, caustics, or chlorinated and aromatic solvents, Cleaner/Degreaser cuts through greasy fuel and oil residues and atmospheric soiling using a low-hazard, water-soluble chemistry. It contains no phosphates and no chlorinated, fluorinated, aromatic, or hydrocarbon solvents, making it an environmentally responsible alternative to aggressive solvent cleaners.
Key Features & Benefits
Rapidly Cuts and Emulsifies Grease & Oil
Cleaner/Degreaser quickly emulsifies all types of grease and oil on contact, making it effective for heavy industrial soiling. For contractors dealing with petroleum-contaminated concrete in garages, loading docks, or manufacturing floors, this speeds up surface prep significantly.
Highly Concentrated Formula
The concentrate dilutes from 1:4 (heavy oil and grease) all the way to 1:200 (daily maintenance), giving contractors the flexibility to optimize product usage by task. A single gallon goes a long way, reducing material costs across large-scale cleaning operations.
Removes Adhesive, Paint, and Sealer Residues
Beyond grease and oil, Cleaner/Degreaser is effective on adhesive tape residues (diluted 1:19) and paint and sealer residues (diluted 1:9). This versatility makes it a practical single-product solution for floor prep in renovation and new construction environments.
Low-Hazard, Non-Flammable Chemistry
With a flash point above 212°F (100°C), a near-neutral pH of 6–8, and low toxicity, Cleaner/Degreaser is safer to handle and store than ketone, benzene, or other aggressive solvent cleaners. Non-flammable formulation reduces jobsite risk and simplifies storage compliance.
Readily Biodegradable Ingredients
The formula contains readily biodegradable ingredients and less than 0.5% VOC content, making it compliant with all national, state, and district regulations. For contractors working on LEED projects or sites with environmental restrictions, this is a meaningful advantage.
Compatible with Protective Floor Treatments
Cleaner/Degreaser is compatible with PROSOCO protective treatments, including Consolideck hardener/densifiers, color coats, and stains. This makes it the preferred prep cleaner when applying coatings or treatments that improve floor appearance and extend service life.
Flexible Application Methods
Can be applied with a low-pressure sprayer, densely filled cleaning brush, mop, automatic scrubbing machine, or pressure washer (400–1,000 psi). Hot water up to 140°F (60°C) can improve cleaning efficiency and allow further dilution.
Common Applications
Heavy Oil & Grease Removal
Use at a 1:4 dilution (concentrate to water) for removing heavy oil and grease deposits on concrete floors in garages, machine shops, and industrial bays.
Light Oil & Grease Films
Diluted up to 1:50, effective for removing light oil films and atmospheric soiling from warehouse and manufacturing plant floors.
Adhesive Tape Residue Removal
At a 1:19 dilution, Cleaner/Degreaser removes adhesive tape residues from concrete surfaces during renovation or changeout work.
Paint and Sealer Residue Removal
Diluted 1:9, suitable for removing paint and sealer residues from concrete floors prior to recoating or refinishing.
Rubber Tire Mark & Scuff Removal
Effective on rubber tire marks and scuffs on concrete floors, commonly encountered in warehouses, loading docks, and distribution centers.
Daily Maintenance Cleaning
At high dilutions of 1:100 to 1:200, Cleaner/Degreaser works as an economical solution for routine facility maintenance cleaning in commercial and industrial settings.
Floor Preparation for Protective Coatings

Application Instructions
Surface Preparation
- Protect people, vehicles, property, polished masonry, concrete, and other surfaces not intended for cleaning from product, residue, splash, fumes, and wind drift.
- Avoid exposing building occupants to mists during application.
- Ensure air and surface temperatures are 50°F (10°C) or above. Do not clean when temperatures are below freezing or will drop below freezing overnight.
- If surfaces have been exposed to freezing temperatures, allow concrete to thaw fully before cleaning.
Dilution & Mixing
- Always dilute Cleaner/Degreaser with water before use. Do not apply concentrate undiluted.
- Select dilution ratio based on soil type:
- Heavy oil & grease removal: 1 part concentrate to 4 parts water
- Light oil & grease films: 1 part concentrate to up to 50 parts water
- Adhesive tape residues: 1 part concentrate to up to 19 parts water
- Paint and sealer residues: 1 part concentrate to up to 9 parts water
- Daily maintenance cleaning: 1 part concentrate to 100–200 parts water
- High-pressure washers or auto scrubbers: 1 part concentrate to minimum 50 parts water
- Use soft water to improve performance at high dilution rates.
- Hot water (up to 140°F / 60°C) can improve results and may allow further dilution.
- Always test for the highest possible dilution that gives effective results.
- Do not dilute below 1:4 on painted concrete floors or polished finishes, as this may cause dulling or detergent film buildup.
Application
- Always test a small area of each surface to confirm suitability and desired results before beginning overall application. Use the same equipment and procedures planned for general application. Allow surface to dry thoroughly before inspection.
- Apply diluted Cleaner/Degreaser using low-pressure spray, densely filled cleaning brush, mop, automatic scrubbing machine, or pressure washer.
- For pressure washing: use 400–1,000 psi with a water flow rate of 6–8 gallons per minute and a 15–45° fan spray tip. Heated water (up to 140°F / 60°C) may improve rinsing efficiency on porous concrete.
Storage & Handling
- Store in a cool, dry place with adequate ventilation.
